Milan Accelerate Their Interest in Nantes Center-Forward

Milan plan to follow up the recent meeting with the agents of Randal Kolo Muani with an offer to sign him from Nantes in January. The Rossoneri had primarily set their sights on him for a Bosman move at the end of the season. However, the interest from Eintracht Frankfurt and Olympique Marseille will speed up the timetable, La Gazzetta dello Sport reports.

The 23-year-old has performed at a high level thus far this season. He has tallied 7 goals and 3 assists in 18 appearances so far. He is on track to improve the numbers of the previous campaign, at least scoring-wise. On the other hand, Milan will need to convince Nantes, which does not appear too keen on selling him right away. The competition with other sides will not help keep his price tag down. The Rossoneri were looking to seize the opportunity to make a bargain.

The management intends to add a young striker to the frontline, either in January or in July. Even if Zlatan Ibrahimovic re-upped his contract, he would have a more limited role. Olivier Giroud has had to deal with multiple physical problems too, and the same goes for Pietro Pellegri. Still, the front office might exercise the €6M option to buy him from Monaco. They would then loan him out to see how he fares while getting regular playing time. Milan are fairly confident that Kolo Muani would pick them among other suitors, so coming to terms with Nantes is the biggest obstacle.
