Milan Actively Scout 19-Year-Old Panathanaikos Prodigy

Milan have been ever-active since the summer transfer window came to an end couple of months ago and it looks like the Rossoneri management are not resting their eyes when it comes to potential onboarding in January.

After news recently remerged of Milan keeping close tabs on Las Palmas wonderkid Alberto Moleira, Tuttosport (via MilanNews) report of a Greek talent in the radar of Milan scouts.

With the January winter market in close proximity, 19-year-old defensive midfielder Sotirios Alexandropoulos has already been scouted twice by Milan – in Panathanaikos’ matches against Atromitos Athens and PAOK Thessaloniki.

As a player capable of functioning as a traditional defensive half or as a deep-lying playmaker – a typical No.8 of sorts – he has captured the attention of many Greek clubs already.

His performances were noted in both the matches, where he played 9- minutes and 58 minutes respectively. With the links to Alexandropoulos, Milan are in search for Franck Kessie’s future replacement, as the Ivorian looks towards the exit door at San Siro.

According to the most recent comments made by his agent, from the Prosports International agency that represents him: “Alexandropoulos is a great talent, the best prospect of Greek football, so it is normal that he has ended up on the radar of many top European clubs. AC Milan? Any talk about its future is now premature.

Although it is highly unlikely the Rossoneri will make a move for the Greek in January, an effort in 2022 cannot be ruled out. He has a contract valid with the Greek giants until June 2024 and is worth approximately €2m, according to transfermarkt.

He already debuted for the Greece national team this year on March 28, at just the tender age of 19.
