Milan Add Pair of Talents to Future Offensive Shortlist

Milan will have to think about a succession plan up front sooner rather than later considering Olivier Giroud’s age. While their hopes lie on Noah Okafor and Luka Jovic this season, the Rossoneri management is mulling making a splash in the future, Calciomercato informs.

Jonathan David is not so secretly their top option. They believe his current €55/60M valuation will decrease thanks to his contractual situation and their strong relationship with Lille.

Milan have a couple more options on their wish list. The latest addition is Roko Simic, the son of their former defender Dario. He’s starring for RB Salzburg this season after a pair of loan spells at FC Zurich and FC Liefering. The 20-year-old has scored 3 goals in 8 appearances so far and has 17 caps with U-21 Croatia. They signed Okafor from the Austrian team last summer.

Furthermore, the Rossoneri are among the many sides tracking Benjamin Sesko. He’s producing even though he’s not a full-time starter yet. He transferred between the two Red Bull-owned sides for €24M last summer. While he might be destined for the Premier League down the line given his price tag, Geoffrey Moncada and co. consider him an ideal target.

Our Take on the Milan Attack

While David is surely more established, Sesko and Simic would be more similar to Giroud in terms of skill set. In the end, most will come down to the price tags and competition.
