Milan officially missed out on Renato Sanches and Carney Chukwuemenka in the last couple of days and have cast a wide net to find another option in the midfield. However, since Tiemoué Bakayoko is still in town, and with Tommaso Pobega and Yacine Adli returning from loans, they have six men for two spots. Therefore, they aren’t necessarily in a hurry.
As per Corriere della Sera, they are eyeing four players in particular, although they haven’t started a negotiation for any of them. One of the options is Midtjylland Raphael Onyedika, who has already accumulated 13 appearances in various European competitions. He logged four goals and four assists last season. Strasbourg’s Ibrahima Sissoko is on the Rossoneri’s radar as well. The colossus hit the net twice and set up six teammates in 2021/2022 and can play as a center-back in a pinch.

Milan are also tracking a Serie A veteran to shore up the midfield, Hellas Verona’s Adrien Tameze. He flourished in the last couple of campaigns and could transfer for a relatively low fee. That could be the case also for Jean Onana, who stars for Ligue 2’s side Bordeaux.
The Rossoneri have been extensively linked to Tottenham’s Pape Matar Sarr. However, they don’t want to just valorize players for other clubs. Therefore, they are keen on a permanent deal or preferably a loan with option to buy.
Our Take on the Milan Midfield
It’s starting to look a lot like their hunt for a defender in January, when they were attached to a plethora of names and ultimately didn’t buy one. Then, Pierre Kalulu fully took advantage of the opportunity. They are in an even better spot in this case.
