Milan Aim for Ziyech After Almost Concluding De Ketelaere Deal

Milan’s hunt for midfield reinforcements has linked them mainly with two targets this summer – Charles De Ketelaere and Hakim Ziyech – with the deal for the former all but concluded. The Belgian prodigy is bound to star for the Rossoneri, but he will certainly not be the club’s final signing ahead of the new season.

Latest reports from Calciomercato indicate that technical director Paolo Maldini and sporting director Ricky Massara will ‘return to knock on Chelsea’s door’ for the Moroccan. Milan are ready to step up talks next month once all other fronts cool down, especially given the fact that Ziyech is willing to take a pay cut in order to join the Italian champions.

Milan are touted to make an attempt in the end of August and hope no other club will advance talks with the player’s entourage. However, chances of that seem bleak since the enigmatic winger has already expressed his wish to join the red and black army of the Milan divide.

An excellent relationship with Chelsea will play a huge role in Milan executing the transfer, with a loan proposal with the right of redemption being the most likely deal.

Our Take on Milan Eyeing Ziyech

Injuries and lack of game time because of competition have meant that the former Ajax ace has failed to impress at Stamford Bridge. However, he could get back to his best with regular minutes. There is a wide possibility that Stefano Pioli might shift from three men upfront to a more accommodating four-man midfield line with the presence of Ziyech in the team.
