Milan Aim to Add Some Youth Up Front, Take Interest in Nantes Forward

Milan might miss out on Kaio Jorge, as Juventus leapfrogged them in the chase. But they still intend to bring in a young striker to spice up their veteran front-line. The new candidate for the role is Nantes’ Randal Kolo Muani, who was part of the French Olympic team, La Gazzetta dello Sport reports.

The 22-year-old forward is versatile as he can also play on the right wing in a pinch. After cutting his teeth at Boulogne on loan, he flourished last season, tallying 10 goals and 8 assists in 38 Ligue 1 appearances. His value has skyrocketed in the past year, and it is now around €10M. However, his contract is up in 2022, which could help the potential buyers. Southampton are also pursuing him, the newspaper adds.

Milan are not planning to make any other major investment after spending big on Fikayo Tomori and other deals. But they want to diversify the attack with a younger piece next to Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Olivier Giroud. Kolo Mouani would represent a bargain if his price tag were not too high.

The Rossoneri also need to sell somebody offensively before adding another contributor. The stalemate continues on the departures. Wolfsburg has joined Eintracht Frankfurt in the race for Jens-Petter Hauge. They are serious contenders since they will play in the Champions League. However, the offers of the German sides are below €15M, and Milan rejected them. Rafael Leao and Samu Castillejo could also leave if they get good enough bids.
