A certain 17-year-old Chievo Verona starlet is on the sights of some top European clubs, including a handful of Serie A elite.
Chievo Primavera’s Samuele Vignato has only recently emerged as a promising young star, with the potential of a great footballing career. The attacking midfielder garnered a fantastic record of 14 goals and 11 assists in 18 Primavera Second Division games last season – equaling a goal scored every 101 minutes in a total of 1,412 minutes played.
According to reports from La Gazzetta dello Sport, city rivals Milan and Inter, along with Juventus and a host of other Italian clubs are keen on luring him. Outside Italy, big guns Barcelona and Bayern Munich are also reportedly monitoring the youngster’s situation.
Bologna are one particular club who have a possible upper hand in luring the 2004-born talent. Vignato’s elder sibling and Italy U-20 international Emanuel Vignato has been with the Rossoblu since the beginning of the 2020/21 season. The chance for Samuele to reunite with his brother might prove to be instrumental to his development as a teenager.
However, a key decision that will certainly influence his departure is Chievo’s rejected appeal against exclusion from Serie B due to financial instability and outstanding tax payments.
Chievo are bound to let him go, given that they have to start all over from Serie D.
