Milan and Kessie on Polar Terms for New Contract Deal

Milan and Franck Kessie are on polar terms for contract renewal deal, according to reports from Todofichajes. The central midfielder has been a Rossoneri cornerstone for past couple of seasons, thanks to his commendable performances in the defensive half.

However, his contract with the club expires in June 2022 and Milan have been unable to secure his signature so far for a new deal.

The former Atalanta midfielder was expected to pen a new deal before the end of the transfer season but his wage expectations is likely to put Milan off, who are said to be in a precarious financial position and in the market in search of few more transfers.

The Ivory Coast international was offered a deal until June 2024 at €3m but was rejected by him and his agent. He expects to be one of Milan’s highest paid footballers with a wage cap of €7m – something that deters Milan from renewing his contract as the transfer window approaches its climax.

With his future up in the air, Milan are reportedly ready to hear offers for him, as they would rather cash in on his services than see him leave next season on a free transfer.
