Christian Pulisic went down clutching the back of his left thigh in the final minutes of the PSG clash. He returned midweek after missing a game and a half because of a contracture. Coach Stefano Pioli tried to downplay the problem but didn’t hide the worry in his post-game remarks to Sky.
“It looks like a cramp, but it’s in the same area as the previous problem. We hope it’s really just that.”
Pulisic was replaced by Alessandro Florenzi as Milan bunkered up to protect their one-goal lead. The top backup of the American winger, Samuel Chukwueze, was back on the bench after sitting out multiple matches because of a thigh strain. While he was spotted warming up, he didn’t enter the contest due to its flow.
Pulisic will take some tests ahead of the next Serie A game versus Lecce. Lazio stars Luis Alberto and Mattia Zaccagni will do the same, with the Roma bout on the horizon. The latter subbed off due versus Feyenoord to a knee contusion, SOSFanta informs. The Spaniard didn’t bow out but finished the game with a heavy tape on his right thigh. He commented afterward (via Tuttomercatoweb).
“I’m fine because we won. I had a little flexor problem beforehand. Let’s see how these days go. I need to be 100 percent for the Derby. We know how much it means to us and our people.”
