Hellas Verona center-back Nicolo Casale is fast emerging as one of the most talked about defenders in the league. The 24-year-old has been vital in Verona’s push to the top half of league standings. It is a season where the Veneto natives even have a chance to make it to Europe for the first time in over three decades.
With great results comes great attention and two of Italy’s big names are eyeing a move for the highly-rated stopper. Milan and Lazio have already made their interest known to Verona earlier in the January transfer window. (via Calciomercato)
Hellas Verona president Maurizio Setti has already received notice from several top clubs, but he has always maintained his interest in securing one of his most valuable players at least until the end of the season.
Casale extended his stay at Verona until June 2026 only recently. The Italy U21 international has a transfermarkt value of €4m, but it is understood that Verona will not accept anything less than €10=15m for their star defender.
Of all the interested clubs, the Biancocelesti have been following Casale’s progress for the longest time. However, with the Rossoneri’s presence in the transfer race, only time will tell where Casale will end up.
