Serie A leaders Milan failed to capitalise on Napoli’s home defeat to Fiorentina to build a gap at the summit as they drew ‘nil-nil’ with mid-table Torino. Stefano Pioli’s men are showing signs of fatigue and have now drawn a blank in consecutive league games for the first time since February 2021.

Milan headed to Turin with a point to prove following Monday’s underwhelming scoreless draw with Bologna. However, the Rossoneri produced another sub-par performance as Torino stood firm at the back to deny Pioli’s side a much-needed win.

Another disappointing evening for the Scudetto hopefuls saw Milan create very few scoring chances. Despite holding Torino at bay in their sixth consecutive H2H, the seven-time European champions failed to achieve the ultimate goal.

For the first time this season, Milan fired a blank on the road, having found the net on each of their 15 previous Serie A travels. Scoring has been a glaring issue for the Rossoneri of late. They have now bagged one goal or fewer in their last six Serie A outings.

That’s not the kind of form that would catapult them to the crown, and Pioli knows it. Despite dropping another precious two points, the Milan boss is adamant his men are ‘not nervous or anxious.’

I do not see a nervous or anxious team. We played, we were compact, then it is clear that we all know how heavy these games are. There is more pressure in the final matches,” Pioli told DAZN, as relayed by MilanNEws.

We are a young team but who knows how to manage management well. We have to try to do better and better. There are only a few games left and we are still there.”

Asked to deliver an update on Milan’s Scudetto chances, Pioli replied: “Percentages? I don’t do them. First we were favorites, then Napoli, then Inter. Anything can happen again.
