Milan Change Stance on Pobega, Eintracht Preparing Raise for Winger

Tommaso Pobega is fully taking advantage of his playing time in the early friendlies. Several regulars are currently not with the team, and the youngster is showing off. The Milan coaching staff appreciates his characteristics and stamina. The Rossoneri considered cashing in on him as they got some good offers. But he could stay and be the fourth midfielder next season, La Gazzetta dello Sport reports.

Milan had Soualiho Meite in such role in the past campaign and did not retain him. They are eyeing a reunion with Tiemoué Bakayoko, but they have not found the right formula with Chelsea. Pobega has a real shot at getting the job. He stated after a recent match: “Everybody here wants to do well and stand out. Then it will be up to the staff and the management to make their evaluations.”

Pobega has drawn some interest primarily from Atalanta, while Leicester eyed him in previous months. However, Milan are seriously contemplating keeping him on the roster or at most sending him on loan to gain experience. Fiorentina, now helmed by his previous coach Vincenzo Italiano, would be the frontrunners for that, Calciomercato.com informs.

While the future of the 22-year-old midfielder is likely still with Milan, Jens-Petter Hauge’s one remains uncertain. Eintracht Frankfurt are preparing a new bid as their initial one was rejected. They had offered €7/8M, while the Rossoneri want €12/13M, Gianluca Di Marzio informs. Rafael Leao is also on the chopping block, but it would take a sizeable proposal for him to leave, Gazzetta points out.
