Milan Concretely Negotiating for AZ Alkmaar Midfielder

Milan are eager to put their hands on Tijjani Reijnders, whom they have been pursuing for the past couple of weeks to substitute Sandro Tonali. The Rossoneri have opened talks with AZ Alkmaar. The midfielder is very keen on the destination, Sky informs.

The Dutch outfit wants €18/20M to part ways with their stalwart. They have refused €14M offers, plus add-ons, from Spain and England. Coach Stefano Pioli greenlit the pursuit after meeting with the revamped brass Tuesday. Ideally, he’d like the newcomers to join before the start of the pre-season preparation next week.

Reijnders isn’t the only player Milan are chasing after. They got in touch with Sassuolo for Davide Frattesi, who’s being pursued by Inter and Roma too. The Nerazzurri have decisively pulled away from the competition, though.

The Rossoneri have onboarded Ruben Loftus-Cheek at the position. However, they need multiple players since Ismael Bennacer will return on the pitch only in 2024 due to a knee cartilage problem.

Our Take on Milan and Reijnders

He’s the purer distributor among their current targets, and they desperately need one. Such a signing makes sense if the fee was affordable; otherwise, there are more intriguing options out there.
