Milan Concur to Long-Term Contract with Emerson Royal

Milan have been after Emerson Royal for multiple weeks and have struck a deal on personal terms, but not yet with Tottenham. There’s still a decent difference between the offer and the request, La Gazzetta dello Sport informed.

The fullback and the Rossoneri have agreed to a five-year contract with €3M wages. He’ll enjoy a pay raise compared to his current deal.

Emerson Royal has voiced his desire to join Milan. The Italian side started with a €15M proposal, while the Spurs initially asked for €25M. The Rossoneri hope to meet in the middle at €18/20M. However, Tottenham president Daniel Levy is famous for being a hard bargainer.

Coach Ange Postecoglou doesn’t consider the defender essential to his plans. He lost the starting job in the second half of the season, appearing just eight times in the Premier League from January on.

Milan remain confident about landing Emerson Royal despite the delays. They could accelerate in the coming days so he can join before the start of their pre-season retreat next Monday.
