Milan Confident of Signing Ex-Serie A Striker to Replace Olivier Giroud

Milan and Alvaro Morata could join forces shortly after Spain complete their outstanding EURO 2024 run with the upcoming final against England. According to Gianluca Di Marzio’s latest report, the Italians are confident of pulling off a deal after Zlatan Ibrahimovic intensified his effort to sign the Atletico Madrid striker.
While waiting for Morata to decide whether to transfer, Milan have abandoned their pursuit of Joshua Zirkzee. Kia Joorabchian’s demands have blown the Rossoneri out of the water, forcing them to walk away from the 23-year-old Bologna forward.
Zirkzee will, in all likelihood, join Manchester United. With the Netherlands out of EURO 2024, he’ll soon travel to Old Trafford to link up with his compatriot Erik ten Hag. In the meantime, Milan have turned their attention to Morata.
The 31-year-old has captained Spain in Germany and could carry them to their third continental triumph this weekend. After that, he’ll hold showdown talks with Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone over his future. Milan are waiting around the corner.
Ibrahimovic is hellbent on luring the former Juventus ace to the Stadio San Siro. The Swede is Morata’s admirer and sees him as a decent solution for the center-forward vacancy. Milan must add to their frontline after parting ways with Olivier Giroud at the end of last season.
Though Morata would be a solid option, there’s no doubt Milan fans would’ve expected someone younger with more potential. But it’s not impossible to picture a scenario in which they’d pursue another forward irrespective of Morata’s deal.
