Milan Defender Touted for Juventus Move, Raiola Holds Talks

Milan defender Alessio Romagnoli, who is currently out-of-favor in the Rossoneri ranks, is fast approaching the exit door at San Siro due to the club’s hesitancy to offer him a renewed contract. He has fallen out of contention under Stefano Pioli after the emergence of Chelsea product Fikayo Tomori.

Having said so, Romagnoli would be entering the New Year as one of the most sought-after players in the transfer market. This has prompted his agent Mino Raiola to conduct talks with Juventus for a potential move of the former Roma stopper, according to Corriere dello Sport (via Calciomercato).

His contract with Milan expires in June 2022, just like a host of new free-agent targets that have emerged in recent times such as David Ospina and Denis Zakaria.

If he does move across town from Milan to Turin, the versatile centre-back would join the likes of veterans Giorgio Chiellini and Leonardo Bonucci, who are both fast approaching the twilight years of their respective careers.

Matthijs De Ligt is the only traditional deputy at the back in the present moment and Romagnoli’s addition can certainly be a positive presence in the Bianconeri’s defensive roster.
