Milan Discussing Real Madrid Trio, Including Former Arsenal Midfielder

The ongoing talks between Milan and Real Madrid could expand to more players besides Brahim Diaz. Alvaro Odriozola and Dani Ceballos, who are not in Carlo Ancelotti’s plans, have also been linked to the Rossoneri. The Italian club is looking for depth in those roles, Calciomercato.com reports.

Milan are eager to reunite with Diaz after a positive spell. The two sides are ironing out the details of his return. He could head back on a season-long loan with an option to acquire him and a buy-back clause for the Merengues. He tallied 7 goals and 4 assists in 39 appearances with the Rossoneri in the 2020/2021 season.

Milan want to bring back Diogo Dalot as well, but Manchester United are not keen on another temporary stint. The English side would rather cash in on him right away, or include an obligation to purchase him next summer. Odriozola could be a viable alternative if the efforts for the Portuguese fullback came up empty. He featured just 16 times in the past season campaign and rarely saw the pitch with Bayern Munich in 2019/2020 as well.

Ceballos is coming off a two-year loan spell at Arsenal, where he played in 77 matches, scoring twice and setting up 5 teammates. He can feature in multiple positions in the midfield. Besides losing Hakan Calhanoglu, Milan face uncertainty regarding the future of Sandro Tonali. They have not reached agreement with Brescia past the initial deadline to redeem him, and the negotiation re-started from scratch. Still only 24, the Spanish playmaker could join on loan.
