Milan Eager to Sign Portuguese Midfield Ace Renato Sanches

After a relatively quiet transfer window, Milan have made last-gasp attempt with several hours to go in order to sign the Portuguese midfield ace from Lille Renato Sanches.

According to reports from Gianluca Di Marzio, the Rossoneri have offered the reigning Ligue 1 champions a hefty fee of 25M in order to potentially lure the 24 year-old to the Stadio San Siro.

Since joining Lille in 2019, the Portuguese international has maintained a fine run of form as he managed to score five goals and provide ten assists in 56 appearances for the French giants. In addition, the midfield ace has scored three goals in 32 appearances for the Portuguese national team, playing a critical role within their Euro 2020 campaign.

As it stands, Franck Kessie is on the verge of departing Milan on a free transfer next season as the club cannot reach an agreement regarding the Ivorian’s renewal. In addition, Tiemoue Bakayoko has had a difficult loan spell so far this season with Il Diavolo, making it very unlikely that Pioli will be willing to pay Chelsea the obligation fee in order to make his move to Milan permanent.

As a result, the club is eager to complete their pursuit in obtaining Renato Sanches as Maldini strongly believes that a player of his high-level profile can make a significant impact within the club through his precise passing, his exceptional technique on the ball, and his brilliant flair of creativity.

While the club hopes to complete his move before the transfer window closes, Milan is also open about the option of acquiring him during the summer prior to the start of next year’s campaign.
