Milan can step up their chase of two French midfielders, Youssouf Fofana and Adrien Rabiot, now that Les Bleus have been eliminated from Euro 2024. The former, who’s their main target, has logged 40 minutes throughout four appearances in Germany.
According to Sky, the Rossoneri want to strike a deal with the player before opening talks with Monaco. They haven’t put pressure to get a definitive answer while he was taking part in the continental tournament.
Milan are optimistic Fofana will give in to their courtship and then move on to the next phases. On the other hand, it won’t be easy to come to terms with Monaco. Their initial request is high considering the youngster has just a year on his contract.
Rabiot has been a free agent since June 30th since he put the contractual talks on hold during the competition. He’ll have to choose whether to start bargaining with Juventus or evaluate the offer from the Rossoneri. It is in the same ballpark money-wise but longer.
Per Calciomercato, the director Geoffrey Moncada is plotting to start from a €12M bid plus add-ons for the French talent. Instead, they have tendered €3.5M annual wages.

He’d be a good fit, but they already have similar player, Yunus Musah, in the squad, and they would need different traits if they parted ways with Ismael Bennacer.
