The French club acquired Diallo from Borussia Dortmund for €32M in 2019. Even though he has not been a full-time starter, his evaluation has not decreased too much. At this stage, Milan consider the demands for the Senegalese defender too high, plus he will partake in the upcoming African Cup of Nations. The Rossoneri are among the teams chasing after Szalai, La Gazzetta dello Sport reports. The Hungarian center-back would be less expensive than Botman and Diallo. He could be acquired for a €10/15M fee. He has fared well in the past two seasons in Turkey, sporadically playing on the flank too.
Milan are primarily seeking a left-footed defender that could pair up well with Fikayo Tomori. While they would prefer signing somebody on loan with option to buy, they are considering making an investment as they were already planning one for the summer.
