Milan Expected to Sell Thiaw to Newcastle Eventually

Milan are making strides in the negotiations for Strahinja Pavlovic and Emerson Royal, and the nudge they need to complete them could come from the sale of Malick Thiaw to Newcastle United, La Gazzetta dello Sport informs.

The deal is in its early stages, but there’s a distinct feeling it will get done later on for a fee close to the request by the Rossoneri. He’ll be replaced by the Serb and perhaps one extra man. They are nearing an agreement with RB Salzburg for about €20M. He might be involved in their trip to the United States. Moreover, they have almost closed the gap with Tottenham concerning the valuation of the fullback, Gianluca Di Marzio informs. The two sides haven’t shaken hands yet but are getting there.

Milan wouldn’t be able to sign other extra-EU players if they landed both Pavlovic and Emerson Royal. Despite their interest, the Youssouf Fofana deal is going backward. Their latest bid amounts to €14M plus add-ons, and Monaco haven’t answered to it, Calciomercato relays.

The Frenchman has decided to leave, but his side is driving a hard bargain and stoking a bidding war. Only thr Rossoneri have lodged an offer, but Atletico Madrid and Manchester United are interested too. The midfielder would like to sort out his future sooner rather than later.

According to Corriere della Sera (via Tuttomercatoweb), the club of the Principality insists that their price tag has always been €35M despite previous reports. Even with the potential Thiaw windfall, Milan wouldn’t tender that much, and they’d have to look elsewhere to shore up their squad after signing Pavlovic and Emerson Royal.
