The transfer involving Rasmus Højlund (from Strum Graz to Atalanta) has an uncanny resemblance to that of Enzo Fernández's move from Benfica to Chelsea

Milan Track Atalanta Starlet Højlund to Boost Aging Attack

Dubbed the ‘Danish Haaland’, Atalanta striker Rasmus Højlund has been making waves in Serie A. Gian Piero Gasperini called his side’s latest 2-0 win against Lazio as their best performance of the season, and Højlund played a starring role in materializing the scoreline – scoring the second with a comfortable tap-in.

As per La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews), interested suitors are piling in light of Højlund’s performances, with Milan specially keen on making a summer move to bolster their aging frontline. Giroud is inching closer to renewing for a further year, Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s future is yet to be evaluated, and Divock Origi has failed to impress so far at Milanello.

With the current turmoil the club are distressed under, the Rossoneri management have made up their mind on wanting to sign a proper center-forward. Juventus, Napoli and Inter are also keeping close tabs, but it is understood that the lure of the Premier League will be hard to reject for Højlund.

The 20-year-old is estimated to be worth atleast €40M.

Having joined from Austrian Bundesliga side Sturm Graz in the summer of 2022, Højlund was initially sidelined by Gian Piero Gasperini. However, the Dane has witnessed increased play time since the start of the new year, and fellow clubs are starting to notice.

Højlund has 12 goals and 5 assists in 28 appearances for Atalanta in his debut season.
