Milan Eye River Plate Prodigy Lucas Beltran to Shore Attack

Milan are prioritizing their search for a striker, and are one of the few clubs eyeing a move for River Plate starlet Lucas Beltran. The Argentine-Italian center-forward has risen through the ranks of the Buenos Aires-based outfit in recent years, drawing the attention of several top clubs from Europe.

According to Tuttosport (via MilanNews), contacts have already been established by the Rossoneri in an attempt to lure the 22-year-old striker to San Siro. However, they will not be the only one making an effort, as Tottenham Hotspur, Napoli, Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid are also keeping close tabs on the Argentina U20 star, as per TNT Sports.

Milan have accelerated their search for a reliable young goalscorer in recent weeks. Cordoba-born Beltran is among several other targets, including Folarin Balogun, Beto, Gianluca Scamacca, Evanilson, and Ben Brereton Diaz, among others.

However, it is the striker’s €25M release clause set by River Plate that might prove to be a hassle for Milan. But it is reported that there is room for negotiation.

Beltran, who holds an Italian passport, is said to fancy a future in Serie A, and with the prospect of starring for one of calcio’s top guns, it might not be long before he moves to the peninsula.
