River Plate cruised to victory in the Argentinian Superclasico, thanks to a formidable performance by 21-year-old forward Julian Alvarez, who is now turning heads across the Atlantic in Europe. He treat the Estadio Monumental to a first-half brace, sealing the 2-1 victory with utmost precision.
According to reports from Calciomercato, Milan are keeping tabs on the youngster who is in sublime form for Los Millonarios. He already has registered 7 goals and 4 assists in 11 games in the Argentine Primera Liga this season.
Milan are however not new to the new prospect of luring him after having cut down their chase for him last season due to his €25m release clause. But as his contract nears the expiration date on December 2022, the Rossoneri could poach him for a much cheaper rate.
He currently has a transfermarkt value of €15m.
The versatile winger is already on the radars of other top clubs such as Tottenham Hotspur, Sevilla, Borussia Dortmund and Bayer Leverkusen.
He won the Copa America earlier in the summer with Argentina and now it looks like a move to Europe is inevitable after all.
