Milan ‘Fan’ Okafor Delighted with Lazio Trouncing

Noah Okafor is steadily finding his feet at Milan after being reduced to a fringe role at the start of his adventure at San Siro. The Austrian forward scored a crucial late goal to seal a 2-0 home win over Lazio on Saturday evening.

Okafor found his first Serie A goal on Wednesday. He turned home the rebound inside the Cagliari box to initiate Rossoneri’s comeback, setting the tone for an impressive 3-1 victory. But after starting the game at Unipol Domus, he returned to the bench this evening.

After replacing Olivier Giroud late in the match, the new Milan signing positioned himself perfectly to latch onto Rafael Leao’s teasing low cross and kill the game off in the 88th minute.

He could be knocking on the door of Stefano Pioli’s starting lineup after proving his poacher’s credentials with significant goals in back-to-back outings. But it’s the manager’s job. For now, Okafor can savor the moment, having earned Milan fans’ trust.

I’m a Milan fan, I’m happy to be here and feel good. I work hard and I’m very happy with my goal and even happier with the three points,” Okafor said in the post-game interview, as quoted by MilanNews.

The 23-year-old admitted he feels comfortable covering multiple positions alongside the frontline. His versatility could be useful to Milan further down the line.

At Salzburg, we played with two strikers, I can play there or on the left wing, these are my favorite positions. I feel comfortable there, I want to grow further by working day after day. I’m really happy to be here.
