Milan Final Transfer Market Economic Tally Revealed

Milan didn’t spend lavishly on any single player in the summer but also kept ahold of their center-pieces, unlike in the past year, when they cashed in on Sandro Tonali and spread the wealth across a host of new signings.

According to Tuttomercatoweb, the Rossoneri technically invested about €50M net in the most recent transfer window. They shelled out €18M for Strahinja Pavlovic, €15M for Emerson Royal, and €20M for Youssouf Fofana. Tammy Abraham joined on loan. They spent €66M plus bonuses for their acquisitions.

In the other direction, Milan pocketed nearly €10M even though most of their former players departed temporarily. Juventus paid €3.3M to have Pierre Kalulu this season, while Fiorentina €1.5M for Yacine Adli. Tommaso Pobega, Marco Pellegrino, Lorenzo Colombo, Luka Romero, and Devis Vasquez all left with the same formula.

Instead, Daniel Maldini and Marco Nasti were let go on free transfers but with large future resale clauses. The only outright sale was Jan-Carlo Simic to Anderlecht for €3M. The Rossoneri didn’t profit from the Charles De Ketelaere deal in this session because he technically joined Atalanta on another loan but with a €22M obligation to buy.

Our Take on the Milan Window

They have landed most of their primary targets despite not splurging, but the question mark is what would have happened if they did sign Joshua Zirkzee for about €40M. Perhaps they would have just stood pat in other roles or sold more players to foot further additions. They have set the stage for a very interesting summer of 2025 if at least a couple of their loanees get bought out.
