Olivier Giroud has received multiple intriguing offers, but Milan are the clear frontrunners at this stage. Chelsea proposed a new deal as well, but the striker is keener on moving to another team. The gap in the negotiation between the two parties is minimal, and the recent talks with his entourage have been fruitful, La Gazzetta dello Sport reports.
The French international is looking to get more minutes and is tempted to join the Rossoneri, where he would split time with Zlatan Ibrahimovic. West Ham, Valencia, Villarreal, and some MLS teams approached him, but he stalled to prioritize Milan. The Italian club is preparing a two-year, €4M deal, similar to the one offered by the Blues. It is the same salary they gave Mario Mandzukic, who will not be confirmed after an underwhelming spell. Directors Paolo Maldini and Frederic Massara might be able to close the deal for Giroud in the next few days.
Afterward, they will consider adding also a young striker to their frontline. While they were previously linked to Gianluca Scamacca, they are now eyeing another Sassuolo starlet: Giacomo Raspadori. He is in high demand as Inter have shortlisted him as a possible replacement for Lautaro Martinez, should they receive a massive bid. Olympique Marseille tried to sign him in January, while RB Leipzig and Eintracht Frankfurt inquired about him in recent days. On the other hand, the 21-year-old forward, who is under contract until 2024, could stay with the Neroverdi for another season to keep growing gradually, the Italian outlet informs.
