Milan Giants Linked to Real Madrid Midfield Outcast

Real Madrid outcast Dani Ceballos finds himself on the radar of European giants as the end of the season approaches. Victim of Carlo Ancelotti’s hesitancy to rotate his squad, Ceballos has so far appeared only five times across all competitions this season, racking up a disappointing 65 minutes overall.

The latest information from Spain indicates that the midfielder will ponder about staying in Madrid only if Ancelotti does not remain in the dugout next season. According to reports from Cadena SER (via El Nacional), the Andalusia-born player prefers a move back to Real Betis – the club that propelled him into the limelight, as Los Blancos shelled €16.5m to lure him to the capital. However, Betis’ stance regarding the player is unknown as of the moment.

He spent two seasons with Real Madrid, before being loaned to Arsenal for the next two seasons – a deal that was put to bed before the beginning of the current campaign as he returned to Spain after his brief loan spell.

Real Betis are reportedly not the only team in contention to sign the Sevilla youth product, whose contract at Madrid expires in the summer of 2023. With his contract running out soon, the Spanish giants have a short window in which they can cash in on his services, rather than see him leave for free next campaign.

Serie A giants Inter and Milan are also potential suitors for the versatile midfielder, who is currently valued at €18m, according to transfermarkt valuations. The Rossoneri have been linked before with Ceballos, but it is the first time the Nerazzurri have been mentioned as contenders.

Ceballos has 61 appearances for the Whites in his three seasons so far.
