Milan Have Made Up Their Mind about Future of Coach Pioli

Stefano Pioli started the season on an expiring contract. However, Milan and the coach are on the same page and will stick together past it. The parties have not scheduled a meeting yet, but there should not be any surprises. Directors Paolo Maldini and Frederic Massara want to reward the gaffer for the excellent work he has been doing.

According to Calciomercato.com, it would not take long to come to terms on a new deal. It may even happen during the current international break or in the next one. Pioli is waiting for the call from the Milan management, but he is not in any rush as the situation is crystal clear. He knows he has the trust of the brass and that the relationship will continue after the current season.

The Rossoneri have a unilateral clause to prolong the pact for one more campaign. However, they will not trigger it before consulting Pioli. The coach is also in line to get a pay bump as he is currently making €2.3M plus a €500k Champions League bonus. His salary is significantly lower than what the other top managers earn. Milan are planning to give him a raise.

Stefano Pioli took over the Rossoneri in October of 2019. He finished sixth in his first season at the helm and second in the most recent one. He has tallied 54 wins, 25 draws, and 18 losses during his time with Milan. He led them back to the Champions League after an extended absence.
