Milan Hopes of Offloading Two Surplus Players Fading

Milan didn’t find a landing spot for Divock Origi and Fodé Ballo-Touré in Saudi Arabia, Portugal, or the Netherlands, where the window closed a few days later compared to the top five leagues. Turkey, Greece, or some exotic championships are the only remaining options, Calciomercato informs.

The two had been excluded from the squad right away after returning from their loans at Nottingham Forest and Fulham. They haven’t even been training with the Futuro squad like previously announced, though.

Origi turned up at their practice facility for just one day this summer and has been working on his own in Florence since, while Ballo-Touré awaited the right opportunity to leave Milan, but it didn’t materialize in the last two months.

The fullback had the chance to move to Saint-Etienne but turned it down, irating the brass. He aimed to go back to the Premier League. However, no side pursued him after he flopped with the Cottagers.

Origi staying put is a bigger problem than Fode Ballo-Touré as Milan handed him €4.5M net annual wages to sign him from Liverpool in a Bosman move in 2022. He tallied 2 goals in 36 appearances in his first year in San Siro. He quickly left the following year. However, he didn’t bounce back with Nottingham Forest, hitting the net once in 22 games. The Tricky Tress didn’t pick up their option to buy.

The Rossoneri have ten more days to come up with a solution in Turkey. Though, there’s not a lot of momentum in that regard at the moment.
