Milan Identify Fiorentina Stopper as Botman Alternative

Milan’s pursuit of Lille center-back Sven Botman seems to be never-ending, and with a whole list of suitors on the Dutch U21 international’s back, the Rossoneri are in a fix regarding their summer options. The reigning French champions ask anywhere between €30-35m for their star defender – a demand that could force the Italians to look elsewhere.

Moreover, Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur are also keeping close tabs on the Dutchman’s development.

La Gazzetta dello Sport (Via PianetaMilan) reports of the Rossoneri’s idea to eye one of their old targets, a player who is well admired by coach Stefano Pioli. That defender is Fiorentina stopper Nikola Milenkovic, who is valued around the €20-25m mark – well below Botman.

The Serbian sees his contract expire in the summer of next year and the Viola would seriously consider selling and cashing in on his services instead of letting him move on a free transfer next year.

The 24-year-old Partizan Belgrade youth product has been linked with Milan in the past and it would not be surprising in the least to see Milan go all in for him in the summer as an alternative to Botman.
