Milan Inch Closer to Sealing Ismael Bennacer Extension

Milan are seeking to extend the stay of one of their midfield linchpins, Ismael Bennacer, who has played a pivotal part in the Rossoneri elevating to the pedestal as champions of Italy. Both Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara are eager to see the Algeria international stay put at the San Siro going forward.

As per latest information relayed by Tuttosport (via Tuttomercatoweb), Bennacer, being a fundamental player for Stefano Pioli, has received a three-year offer adding to his existing contract that expires in June 2024. His wages would rise to €4M net per season plus bonuses, which is however less than the €4.5M demanded by the ex-Empoli man’s entourage.

Enzo Raiola, the agent heading negotiations with Milan, is expected to meet the Rossoneri management in the coming days to talk money – which is the only barrier needed to bridge the small distance between the two parties.

The central midfielder has been eyed in the past by Premier League giants Chelsea and Manchester United.

Bennacer has appeared 127 times for Milan since moving from Empoli in 2019. He played a vital role in the club lifting the Scudetto title last season.
