Milan Insisting to Clear the Hurdles to Acquire Zirkzee

Despite the obstacles, Milan haven’t turned away from Joshua Zirkzee for the time being. His participation in Euro 2024 has paused the negotiation. It’s stuck on the commissions for his agent. The Rossoneri will continue working on it, Gianluca Di Marzio informed.

At this stage, the competition is coming only from other Italian sides. Bologna haven’t abandoned hopes of convincing the player to stay for another season. The striker himself had dropped a hint about it in an interview. Juventus might come into the picture later on but are tending to other deals currently.

In any case, Milan haven’t set their sights on different strikers for now while they try to unblock the Zirkzee deal. According to Corriere dello Sport, the most realistic alternative is Serhou Guirassy, who has a €17.5M release clause. However, he might not be an option for long since he has a few suitors.

As for different roles, the Rossoneri are keen on Diogo Leite. Union Berlin ask for €15M. The management prefers taking care of different positions before going after a defender with more determination.

Our Take on Milan and Zirkzee

The forced break isn’t too shabby as it allows them to haggle with his entourage more under the radar. They’d have to pick up the pieces and do a lot of PR if they moved on from him after getting so close and if they didn’t just get beat by a team willing to spend more.
