Joan Gonzalez has been one of the main revelations of the season, and Milan are keeping tabs ahead of the summer. The Spaniard has earned a regular role in his first campaign among the pros. He was playing in Primavera in 2021/2022.

Per Calciomercato, the youngster is drawing interest from a plethora of Premier League and La Liga clubs, but he might stay in Italy if a top side goes after him. The Rossoneri would bring in another midfielder if they didn’t retain Aster Vranckx. He has done little to justify activating his €12M option to buy so far.

Milan have quickly established a strong relationship with Lecce, which could help them land Gonzalez. The two outfits will discuss the future of Lorenzo Colombo, who has done well on loan to the Salentini. They have a set clause to acquire him permanently, but the Rossoneri can bring him back regardless.

The 21-year-old midfielder is a product of La Masia. He moved to Puglia on a free transfer in 2021. He didn’t make any appearances in Serie B last season but won the coach over during the summer. He has scored once and provided 3 assists in 22 matches.

Our Take on Milan and Gonzalez

The Rossoneri should definitely seek reinforcements at the position, as they don’t have great backups for Sandro Tonali and Ismael Bennacer. On the other hand, they generally play with a two-man line, while the starlet is a pure box-to-box. While he’s young enough to be molded and probably wouldn’t be too expensive, there might be cleaner fits out there.
