Milan Join Pursuit for Bundesliga Star Forward Nkunku

Milan could return to being one of the protagonists in the upcoming summer transfer window under the new Arab ownership. According to La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews), one of the most exciting names linked with the Rossoneri is in-form RB Leipzig forward Christopher Nkunku.

Elliott Management and the Arab fund Investcorp are in talks over a $1.1b summer takeover. It could secure Milan much-needed funds to reinforce the squad ahead of the new season. Recruitment strategy should stay the same, involving talented up-and-comers.

As per some rumours, the incoming new owners would hand the club a €300m budget to strengthen the roster in the summer. Nkunku has caught the eye of the Milan recruitment team following his stellar season at Leipzig.

The 24-year-old Frenchman has flourished since swapping Paris Saint-Germain for the Bundesliga in summer 2019. This season has been particularly prolific for Nkunku. He has racked up a stunning 17 goals and 14 assists in 29 Bundesliga appearances, establishing himself as one of the best-performing forwards in Germany’s top division.

Nkunku’s sensational showings have attracted interest from several of Europe’s big guns, including Manchester United, Liverpool and Bayern Munich. PSG have regretted their decision to cut their youth academy graduate loose and would like to bring him back.

However, Milan look unfazed by the competition as they hope to improve the team for a new Champions League campaign. Nkuku has already shown his value in Europe’s elite competition this season. His mesmerising continental displays are one of the main reasons behind the growing interest in his services.
