Milan Join Real Madrid on the Chukwueze Bandwagon

Villarreal winger Samuel Chukwueze has grabbed the headlines for all the right reasons in the past week after putting Real Madrid to the sword in a Man of the Match display at the Santiago Bernabeu. His praiseworthy two goals in a 3-2 win not only draw eyeballs from Los Blancos themselves but from Milan as well.

As per Calciomercato.it, the Rossoneri have great interest in the 23-year-old forward but will have to deal with a substantial disbursement if they are to sign him. Chukwueze possesses an €80M clause in his Villarreal contract, which expires in June 2024. However, they will be forced to sell him for considerably less, given the approaching expiry date of his existing deal.

The Nigerian is unlikely to agree to a renewal, even if he were to encounter one given the burgeoning interest in him from top clubs, including Napoli. There is a good chance the Partenopei have been sweet-talked by Chukwueze’s national compatriot and Serie A top scorer Victor Osimhen.

Chukwueze has spent his entire career at Villarreal so far, first appearing for the club’s reserve side in 2017/18, before making the jump to the senior team. He has 41 goals in 217 appearances so far.
