Milan have been attached to a few young strikers to either succeed or join Olivier Giroud up front next season, but Joshua Zirkzee stays at the top of their preferences. They intend to make a robust attempt to sign him, Matteo Moretto report (vis SOSFanta).
The Rossoneri are open to keeping their veteran, who’s on an expiring contract. However, they are wary he might want an experience outside of Europe before hanging ‘em up. Either way, they plan to add a starlet.
Milan will reach out to Bologna and the entourage of Zirkzee ahead of the summer window. Their strategy is to invest €25/30M and include some makeweights to embellish their package and get close to €40M. They will use Alexis Saelemaekers, who is on loan in Emilia with a €10M option to buy, and perhaps Lorenzo Colombo as bargaining chips.
Bayern Munich could bring the Dutchman back for a fixed price and have the right to match any offer. However, he’ll need to sign off on his return. At this stage, he hasn’t shown such an inclination. He’d like a prominent role in his next team, while the Bavarians have Harry Kane. Instead, the biggest threat to the Rossoneri comes from the Premier League. His agent is well-connected there.

He’d be perfect to lead their frontline, but Bologna never get their arm twisted in their sales and always cash in fully. They’ll have to be ready to empty their coffers to get him.
