Milan Keeping Track of Two Strikers if Zirkzee Talks Break Down

Bologna rising star Joshua Zirkzee continues to be the hottest name on the Milan shortlist as the transfer window starts to pick up a head of steam. However, Gianluca Di Marzio claims the Dutchman isn’t the only attacking profile considered by the Rossoneri hierarchy, with two more forwards in the mix.

Chelsea’s Armando Broja is also on the list. His potential arrival would probably only infuriate the Milan supporters. After a sub-par loan spell at Fulham, the Albanian is heading back to Stamford Bridge only to move on, perhaps on another temporary deal.

Given Broja’s perennial struggles in the Premier League, it makes little sense that Milan would pursue him to replace Olivier Giroud. But as Luka Jovic prepares to leave the club, the 22-year-old could still link up with the Serie A runners-up as a potential second-string striker.

Meanwhile, Girona’s Artem Dovbyk would be an exciting option for Milan following a memorable season in La Liga. With 24 goals, he narrowly edged out Villarreal’s Alexander Sorloth to claim the top-scorer award in Spain’s top flight, helping the Catalan outfit secure Champions League qualification for the first time in the club’s history.

Dovbyk reportedly has a verbal agreement with Girona to be allowed to leave if a €40m offer comes in. That’s more than Milan would have to pay Bologna to onboard Zirkzee. The parties have reopened complex talks over the forward’s move to San Siro, but Kia Joorabchian’s outrageous demands could throw a spanner in the works.
