Milan Line Up Cut-Price Deal for Spanish Defensive Talent

After failing to address the left-back issue in the transfer window just finished, Milan will launch a new offer to bring Real Betis starlet Juan Miranda. As per Fabrizio Romano, the 23-year-old’s contract at the Estadio Benito Villamarin runs out next summer, with Rossoneri keeping close tabs on the situation.

Miranda was on the Italian giants’ shortlist in the summer. Milan even offloaded underperforming Fode Ballo-Toure to Fulham on a season-long loan to make room for the Spaniard’s arrival. However, Betis refused to negotiate their highly-rated defender’s departure.

There’s nothing Los Verdiblancos can do to lock down their in-demand youngster in 2024. With less than a year left to run on his deal in Andalusia, Miranda could part with Manuel Pellegri’s troops as early as January. Milan could table a €5 million bid to land him this winter.

Betis demanded up to €12m in the summer. But since the renewal talks broke down, the Spanish powerhouse must drop their valuation. Otherwise, they would have to accept the risk of losing their gem on a free transfer in less than 12 months. Milan would benefit in either case.

Prodigious teenager Davide Bartesaghi has been Theo Hernandez’s deputy in the early 2023/24 campaign. However, Milan boss Stefano Pioli is eager to land a more experienced backup option.

The Italians reinforced multiple squad areas in the summer, leaving the left-back position as a rare uncovered spot. Therefore, Milan will probably pursue a deal for Miranda, either in January or next summer.
