Milan Line Up Double Deal for Villarreal Forwards

Milan are plotting a double swoop for Villarreal duo Samuel Chukwueze and Arnaut Danjuma as talks between the clubs gather momentum. As per Gazzetta dello Sport, the Serie A heavyweights are keen to get both players to San Siro.

It’s been a rather sluggish start to the transfer window for Milan. However, it’s started to pick up pace. Only yesterday, the Italians found a long-overdue agreement with AZ Alkmaar for Tijjani Reijnders. Christian Pulisic and Ruben Loftus-Cheek are already training with the group.

After strengthening their midfield, Milan are hellbent on bolstering Stefano Pioli’s attacking choices. Chukwueze’s €25 million price tag had scared the Rossoneri off at the beginning of the summer. But after selling Sandro Tonali, money is no longer a problem.

Milan will still try to drive the Nigerian’s price down. Since his contract runs out next summer, Villarreal are not in a sound position to set terms. But as the 24-year-old remains a significant first-team cog at the Estadio de la Ceramica, the Spaniards may even accept the risk of losing him for free in 12 months.

In the meantime, Danjuma could be free to go now. The ex-Bournemouth forward struggled to impress during his short-term loan at Tottenham Hotspur last season. And Villarreal are ready to let him leave on another temporary deal. That would perfectly suit Milan.

Having spent big to revamp Pioli’s midfield options, the Rossoneri are seeking cost-effective signings in the front third. Danjuma could be just what the doctor ordered.
