Milan-Linked Hakim Ziyech Hands in Transfer Request

Chelsea star winger Hakim Ziyech has reportedly handed in a transfer request amid growing interest from Milan. As per Calciomercato, the Morocco talisman looks to cut ties with the Blues and secure a summer switch to Serie A.

Ziyech is said to be frustrated with a lack of playing time at Stamford Bridge. Indeed, things have not gone according to plan for the 29-year-old in London. Since swapping Ajax for Chelsea in 2020, he has become a bit-part player.

Last season, he made just 14 Premier League starts. Ziyech is aware that he is not Thomas Tuchel’s most desirable choice up top. As such, he hopes to link up with the newly-crowned Serie A champions in the coming months.

Milan and Chelsea are reportedly in talks over Ziyech’s move to San Siro. A potential deal would not only benefit the Italian champions. Tuchel also aims to reshuffle his attacking options.

As witnessed by Romelu Lukaku’s temporary return to Inter, Chelsea are planning a massive overhaul of their attacking department. Ziyech’s agent has, in turn, reached out to Milan to laid the groundwork for his client’s switch to Serie A.

Chelsea are open to letting their unsettled winger leave on loan with an option to buy. Negotiations for Ziyech could gain momentum in the coming days.

The Blues’ readiness to sanction a temporary move bodes well for the Italians’ hopes of closing the deal. Milan will have to work on a tight budget this summer.

The Rossoneri would have to dash out around €6m to secure a loan agreement. Given Ziyech’s undeniable quality, it looks like a bargaining deal.
