RB Salzburg Noah Okafor has been mentioned as a possible Milan target for the future. In the meantime, he and his side will try to beat the Rossoneri and leapfrog them in the standings in the final round of the Champions League group stage.
The striker talked to La Gazzetta dello Sport.
“I like to play these games. They are special and convey different emotions, allowing you to grow. It’s always nice to score in one of these. We pulled off something extraordinary last season by advancing past the first stage. We were the first Austrian team to do it.”
Okafor believes Salzburg will be in a better spot than Milan Wednesday.
“Our goal this year was to try measuring up against them and Chelsea. We don’t have much pressure and we aren’t obliged to win. We’d be happy to keep playing in Europe, even better if in Champions League. The Rossoneri are a very strong side and have a legendary history. Even facing them is a nice experience. I’m looking forward to playing in San Siro.”
The attacker shied away from the transfer market rumors.
“I’m fully focused on my team and I don’t think about them right now. I don’t have any preference for the future. Whether it’ll be England, Spain, Italy or Germany, any league is fascinating. The same goes for clubs. When the time will come and there will be something tangible, we will analyze it together and weigh every factor. This side truly believes in us, they hand-pick us carefully and trust us a lot. They protected me when I had some injuries. I know it doesn’t happen everywhere, and I’m grateful for that.”
