Milan Linked to Torino and Everton Defenders to Replace Romagnoli

Milan do not know whether they will still have Alessio Romagnoli next season. The defender has an expiring contract, and the club has prioritized the extension of Franck Kessié so far. The talks with his agent Mino Raiola have not progressed at all, also for what happened with Gianluigi Donnarumma in the summer.

Even though Romagnoli is no longer a starter as Fikayo Tomori and Simon Kjaer are the top two options, he has played a lot given the busy schedule. If he left, he would have to be properly replaced. Milan envision Pierre Kalulu more as a fullback due to his lack of size. The raw Matteo Gabbia is the only other alternative on the roster.

Romagnoli currently earns €6M per year, and the management has no intention of retaining him at those numbers. His representative often blasted Milan in the recent past, which made the negotiation more difficult. Raiola directly linked his client to Juventus.

The Rossoneri have begun following a few targets to be ready in case of his departure, Calciomercato.com reports. They are keeping tabs on Bremer, who has flourished at Torino in the past two seasons. The Brazilian defender is under contract until 2023 and has yet to prolong it. The Granata are trying to agree to an extension. Juventus, Inter and Liverpool are also eyeing him.

Moreover, Milan have been offered Everton’s Yerry Mina. The 27-year-old would represent an experienced option for the role. However, his price tag, factoring in wages and commissions, makes him an unlikely target, the publication adds.
