Milan Looking to Add Napoli Fullback Elseid Hysaj via Bosman Move

Milan are planning to sign at least one fullback in the summer and are eyeing Elseid Hysaj, whose contract with Napoli expires in June. They will not pick up the €20M option to acquire Diogo Dalot from Manchester United and will look at other option. The player is also on Lazio and Roma’s radars, transfer market expert Alfredo Pedullà reported.

Hysaj can be deployed either flank and would represent a cheap way to fill a void. He is asking for €3M per year but could settle for slightly less. The Rossoneri are currently focusing on their own free agents to be, like Gianluigi Donnarumma and Hakan Calhanoglu, but the defender is high on their list of priorities. The club will move concretely once they will have secured the qualification to Champions League.

In any case, the 27-year-old Albanian international will leave the Partenopei after six seasons, where he has amassed 214 appearances and scored once. He is also very attached to Maurizio Sarri and will be targeted by the team that hires him. While still being a regular, he has not been a full-time starter in the last two campaigns after the veteran coach left.

Dalot has been the primary reserve for both Davide Calabria and Theo Hernandez this year, with Pierre Kalulu also occasionally featuring at right-back. Milan were previously rumored to be pursuing Barcelona’s Junior Firpo and Palmeiras’ Matias Vina to back up the French ace before they begun chasing after Hysaj.
