Milan Made Approach for Top-Class Bundesliga Winger

Milan have reportedly approached Bayer Leverkusen to ask about the availability of quicksilver forward Leon Bailey. As per Sportitalia journalist Rudy Galetti, the Rossoneri are keen on making the Jamaica international their marquee summer signing.

Samu Castillejo seems to be on the verge of quitting the San Siro this summer, which will free up a slot in the attacking department for a new forward. It is no secret that Milan are in the market for a winger to bolster Stefano Pioli’s offensive options as they continue to keep close tabs on several high-profile names.

Sassuolo standout performer Domenico Berardi is one of the profiles considered by Paolo Maldini, but the Serie A heavyweights are also exploring other options. One of the alternatives is Leon Bailey, who had a stellar 2020/21 season at the BayArena.

The 23-year-old racked up 15 goals and 11 assists in 40 appearances across all competitions en route to returning under the spotlight following an injury-plagued 2019/20 campaign. Bailey’s eye-catching performances for Leverkusen have caught the eye of some Premier League clubs, but Milan will fancy their chances.

Bailey has less than a year left to run on his current contract at Bayer and could be on the move in the coming weeks. Since they’ve failed to tie him down to a new deal, Die Werkself will be looking to cash in on their rising star to avoid the risk of losing him on a free next summer.

According to some sources, Bailey could be available for around €35million, a figure the Rossoneri should be able to afford. Milan have been monitoring the forward’s development in the Bundesliga for quite some time and could concretize their interest soon.
