Milan Made Contacts With Mino Raiola Over Dutch Starlet

AC Milan have made in touch with super-agent Mino Raiola to discuss the prospect of signing sought-after PSV Eindhoven forward Donyell Malen. Per Calciomercato, the Rossoneri have established contacts with the Italy-born agent to understand if there is a possibility of sealing the deal in the summer.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s renewal won’t change the complexity of Milan’s business ideas that include the signing of a new striker. The Swede has been instrumental in the Lombardian’s top-four charge in Serie A despite enduring an injury-riddled season.

Ibra will be 40 next term around and his playing time will require sophisticated management. Therefore, the Serie A giants are on the lookout for a new hitman to provide depth to Stefano Pioli’s offensive options.

Malen, who has been in fine form for PSV this season, has popped up as a potential solution. The Dutch sensation has plundered 25 goals in 42 appearances in all competitions and is currently second in the Eredivisie scoring leaderboard.

At 22 and with plenty of room for improvement, the youngster perfectly fits the profile for the type of player Paolo Maldini is looking to bring to the San Siro. Malen would breathe Milan’s lungs a fresh set of air and offer tremendous resale value.

But the Serie A giants are not alone in the race for Raiola’s client.

Versatile and superbly crafted forward, Malen has come under the spotlight this season, with Borussia Dortmund placing a watchful eye on the prosperous up-and-comer. Die Borussen are preparing for life after Erling Braut Haaland, who is destined for a big-money move in the summer.

The Bundesliga powerhouse are well known for spotting buys and then going on to generate sizeable profits from selling them. However, Dortmund could miss out on Champions League football, which would give Milan an upper hand in a potential transfer tug-of-war.

If Borussia’s recent buys are any reference point, the Rossoneri fans can only hope Maldini can get to Malen first.

Fiorentina’s Dusan Vlahovic and Torino’s Andrea Belotti are also in Milan’s cross-hairs, though the arrival of any of them would require a substantial financial sacrifice.
