Milan Monitoring Fast-Rising Montpellier Center-Forward

Milan will likely sign a new striker in January, and Akor Adams has lingered as a secondary target while Jonathan David and Serhou Guirassy have taken center stage in recent weeks. The Rossoneri will send some scouts to watch him during the upcoming match between Monaco and Montpellier, Calciomercato relays.

The Italian side inquired through intermediaries and learned that his price tag is around €15M. He has hit the net 7 times in 13 Ligue 1 matches so far.

Adams combines an attainable price tag and upside more than the other names on the Milan radar. However, it remains to be seen whether Montpellier would be willing to sell him so soon. They acquired him from Lillestrom for €4.5M last summer. He penned a contract till 2027.

The Nigerian forward also played for Sogndal and Jamba F.A. during the course of his career. He filled his boots in Norway before transferring to France, bagging 37 goals and providing 11 assists in 88 appearances in the OBOS-ligaen and the Eliteserien. He has two caps with Nigeria U-20.

Our Take on Milan and Adams

While they have been linked to some high-profile and expensive names, they’ll probably end up signing somebody like him, who’s fairly established but not too old and has an affordable valuation, replicating the Noah Okafor acquisition. While they should think long-term and find an Olivier Giroud heir sooner rather than later, bowing out of the Champions League, and perhaps Europe altogether, would probably change their January plans.
