Milan Need to Raise Their Offer to Onboard Samardzic

Milan are closing in on Youssouf Fofana and Strahinja Pavlovic, while the negotiation to sign Lazar Samardzic will require more time. There aren’t insurmountable issues on the player’s side. However, they have to improve their offer to Udinese, Alfredo Pedullà informs.

The Rossoneri proposed €15M, while the counterparty demands at least €5M more. They met with his father, who’s part of his entourage. The summit was positive, as the commissions don’t exceed their cap, €5M. The transfer to Inter collapsed late because he barged into the negotiation and tried to change the terms previously agreed upon by his former agent.

Samardzic is keen on joining Milan, and his wages are relatively low. The Friulani have rebuffed every interest so far this summer and have been less vocal about his departure than in previous windows, also because they have a new director. The midfielder has two more years on his contract.

According to Calciomercato, the Bianconeri would be open to getting one or more youngsters in return. In particular, they inquired about Davide Bartesaghi, Kevin Zeroli, and Lorenzo Colombo. However, the Scudetto runner-ups count on the first two for their newly established second team. Instead, the striker is very close to Empoli. The initial conversations led to very different valuations about the potential makeweights, making the inclusion of any of them in the deal unlikely.

Our Take on Milan and Samardzic

It’s time for a big team to put him out of his misery and snap him up already. In his case, paradoxically, the hurdles are more with his camp than with his side, so there are good chances of a positive outcome.
