Yacine Adli had his introductory presser for Milan Monday and commented on his impact with his new club and his role (via Tuttomercatoweb).
“I fit in well. I found a family that works hard and together. The coach is testing me in different positions, and I am ready to adapt. The most important thing for me is to play regardless of the position. I followed the Rossoneri closely last season. Their collective strength was noticeable.”
The former Bordeaux starlet disclosed to have received a piece of advice from a former club’s legend.
“I trained with Timothy Weah in Paris, and George told me to study Roberto Baggio because I could learn a lot from him, and so I did. You have to watch and admire these great champions without trying to replicate them. They are unreachable.”
Adli was signed by Milan last summer but stayed in Ligue 1 on loan.
“It was not an easy situation, but I tried to keep my focus on Les Girondins, even though I often thought about coming here in the best possible conditions. There are several French players, which is nice. A team like this must always shoot for the Scudetto, even though Serie A is tough and competitive. We will attempt to defend the title. There is more physicality in France, while they pay more attention to tactics and technique in Italy. I will have to get to know the league better.”
“I understand the language, but speaking it is a different thing. I hope to be able to do so in a couple of months. My compatriot Paul Pogba had a great career, but I am just looking at myself and my journey. I am here to do well with the Rossoneri.”
