Milan Newcomer Recounts Chase, Provides Fitness Update

Noah Okafor is chomping at the bit to practice with his new teammates, as he has done it just on the side so far to recover from a previous foot injury. It’ll happen soon, as he told La Gazzetta dello Sport.

“I’m fine. I was sidelined last week but I will join the group in the next one. There’s a great atmosphere. The squad is fantastic and everything has gone well with the coach. I’ve just signed but I’m very happy and truly hopeful for the future.”

Okafor explained how his move to Milan came to be.

“We have been in touch for six-to-nine months. The contacts intensified in the last two weeks. They saw that I was in good health. Everything got done in three or four days, and here I am.”

“The Rossoneri wanted me strongly. I faced them in the Champions League last Autumn, and we have been talking ever since. I had other offers, but everything has always been clear in my mind. It’s the right next step for my growth.”

Okafor shed light on the role he’ll have with Milan.

“I can play on either flank or centrally, as I’m versatile. I’ll have to adjust to a new country, tactics and teammates, but I’ve already gone through the process with RB Salzburg. I hope to win Serie A right away.”
